This elegant antique wall clock was made by Junghans, one of Germany’s most important and respected clock manufacturers, founded in Schramberg in the Black Forest region.
By the late 19th century, Junghans had become one of the leading producers of precision domestic clocks, known for reliable movements, well-proportioned cases and high-quality decorative wall regulators.
Dating to around 1890, this piece represents the classic Gründerzeit / Neo-Renaissance regulator style that was highly fashionable in Central European interiors during the late 19th century.
The tall architectural case is richly decorated with turned side columns, balustrade-style detailing, carved geometric ornaments, finials and a prominent pediment top. These historicist details give the clock a strong decorative presence, ideal for a library, hallway, study, dining room, gentleman’s room, boutique interior or classical residence.
The clock features a white dial with black Roman numerals, ornate black metal hands, a warm brass bezel and the recognizable Junghans star mark with the letter “J” on the dial. The lower glazed compartment displays the pendulum, adding movement and nostalgic charm. The original-style winding key is present.
The clock is in working condition and runs perfectly, making it both a functional timepiece and a highly decorative antique object. with its rich patina, architectural wooden case and authentic late 19th-century German craftsmanship, this Junghans regulator is a characterful collector’s piece for enthusiasts of antique wall clocks, German clocks, Black Forest horology and historic European interiors.
