Original leather upholstery, polyurethane foam, steel internal frame and dacron fiber padding. Introduced in 1966, the coronado model revolutionized upholstered furniture through its innovative use of cold-moulded polyurethane foam (polysorfit®) over a metal frame, combining industrial production techniques with exceptional comfort and sculptural form. These chairs are upholstered in rich cognac-brown leather, beautifully patinated with age, and feature the model’s signature deep button tufting across the backrest and seat. The generously padded, enveloping cushions create a soft, inviting silhouette, while the low, grounded stance emphasizes comfort and relaxed elegance. The design is further distinguished by its integrated armrests and fully upholstered base, giving the chairs a monolithic yet supple appearance—an enduring hallmark of scarpa’s work.
