Designed by Jorge Zalszupin for the iconic Hotel Nacional in Rio de Janeiro, this armchair embodies the refined architectural language of Brazilian hospitality design in the 1970s.
Executed in caviúna wood with tailored wool upholstery, the chair features sculpted arms and a deeply cushioned seat that emphasize both comfort and structural discipline. The wood has been professionally restored, preserving the warmth and density characteristic of this prized Brazilian hardwood.
Originally conceived for one of Brazil’s most significant modernist landmarks, this model reflects Zalszupin’s ability to merge luxury, proportion, and functional elegance.
A matching desk from the Hotel Nacional is also available, offering collectors the opportunity to assemble a historically coherent interior grouping.
