This handsome piece shows its hand-cut dovetails on the top with a classic ogee molding, pegged in place, forming the bold crown. The frieze beneath it bears a hardwood blunted pyramid applique at each end, underlined with a thin ogee trim. The front corners of the case are decorated with applied fluting capped with carved hardwood stylized acanthus plant corbels. The single raised panel door opens on exposed butt hinges to two useful shelves inside. The rusted hinges contrast nicely with the zinc escutcheon plate. See less
