This unique and elegant chair #5890 … Read more A very well-crafted sculptural bentwood Pretzel chair with dark brown upholstered leather seat cushion. This unique and elegant chair #5890 was designed in the early 1950's by George Nelson the iconic designer whose work for Herman Miller brought him to the forefront of Mid-Century design. The original chairs were only produced for a couple of years due to the manufacturing process which was very difficult to make in large numbers so few were made and are highly collectable. This car was reintroduced by ICF De Padova Italy and was made from 1984-86 but production was halted due to the same problem that Herman Miller had the cost to make, time to fashion each piece and of course retail pricing.
