Similar in style to the flat bar version of the Brno is the more architecturally austere of the two Mies variants — where the tubular version has a softness and roundness, the flat bar reads as pure line drawing in chrome, all right angles and precise geometry broken only by the sweep of the cantilever curve. It is a more demanding design and a more rewarding one. Both chairs in this pair are structurally sound, the chrome is in good condition with appropriate age-related patina, and the frames are well-matched.

The original blue cross-pattern upholstery in deep navy is a graphic and period-appropriate fabric that suits the chrome frame with real visual force. Reupholstery in leather — black, white, or cognac — would be the natural update and would transform these chairs for a contemporary interior. The back and seat pads are original construction. No maker's markings observed; please check the underside of the seat frame.
