About the item:
Le mois littéraire et pittoresque ("The Literary and Picturesque Month") was a French magazine published between 1899 to 1917. It was published by Maison de la Bonne Presse ("House of Good Press"), a Paris-based publishing house founded in 1873 by Emmanuel d'Alzon, who also founded the Assumptionists, a Catholic congregation. The magazine offered literary, religious, and cultural content.
The cover of this issue (among others) was illustrated by Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939), a Czech painter, illustrator, and icon of Art Nouveau, an artistic movement known for its sinuous forms inspired by the natural world.
The spine of this magazine is somewhat split, but the item is otherwise in good condition. See photos for more details.
