Its then-visionary form, with runners instead of legs, combined with the contrasting materials of chromed tubular steel and organic rattan weave, captivated visitors. The design has been produced by various renowned manufacturers throughout the 20th century and continues to this day; the version with two adjustable crossbars is by Thonet.

The chairs offered for sale come from the estate of a prominent German architect and chair collector, date from the mid-20th century, and exhibit a beautiful patina. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
