Designed under the direction of Charles Noke, these narrative jugs were produced as part of the firm’s Dickens Series Ware, celebrating scenes and characters from the works of Charles Dickens. The rich glaze enhances the sculptural depth of the figures and furnishings within the composition.

Each jug retains its fitted stopper with silver-plate top. Displayed together, the pair creates a striking example of Royal Doulton’s early twentieth-century storytelling ceramics.
