They are defined by their elegant Rococo curves, hand-carved floral details, and characteristic cabriole legs. Hand-carved floral motifs adorn the "crown" (top of the backrest), as well as the seat rail, arms and legs. The signature S-shaped cabriole legs end in scroll feet, a hallmark of the Louis XV aesthetic.
These frames were crafted either from walnut or beechwood and then painted beige with green trim showing a "distressed" look that highlights the intricate carvings.
Padded scrolling arms and "whip-shaped" supports join the seat rails in a graceful curve when viewed from the sides.
While these chairs are upholstered in a floral damask with a nail head trim, one can imagine them recovered traditionally with Aubusson tapestry, or in updated neutral fabrics for a fresh take on this timeless style.
