Miniature longcase grandfather clock
This grandfather clock contains a Lenzkirch A.G.U. movement (founded in 1851). Based on the serial number, the clock itself dates from 1881/1882 (serial number 403857). The longcase surrounding the movement is from the 20th century. The clock has a metal dial with Roman and Arabic numerals. Gilded rocaille is applied around the dial, and above it, the text "D. Thompson, London" is engraved. The clock is crowned by a simple metal Atlas figure and angels. Marked on the back of the movement.
Including Atlas, the clock is 51.5 cm high, 17 cm wide, and 8.5 cm deep.
The total weight is 1823 grams.
The movement is overwound, and it is unknown whether it functions.
The backplate behind the movement is missing.
