An early-to-mid 20th-century Parisian furniture maker and importer, (later known as Cassard-Romano Co. Inc.), Cassard et Cie was renowned for its' fine high-quality reproductions of 18th-century French styles; operating out of Paris with a New York City showroom, specializing in high-end antique and modern furniture and "objets d’art". Rich in character with marvelous patina, the desk retains the original Cassard et Cie, Paris, metal makers medallion.
