Ultra-rare aluminum lounge chairs designed by Bruce Hannah and Andrew Morrison for Knoll. This design team worked together at Knoll throughout the 1970s and won numerous design awards!

Like Marc Newson's Lockheed Lounge, the aluminum pieces designed by Hannah and Morrison in 1971 were inspired by a mode of transportation, specifically, sailboats and the way sails slot into a channel in the mast. These chairs are demountable and easily taken apart with an Allen wrench. The aluminum side panels release the center sling, where the upholstery slides into a channel in the metal bar. Extremely easy to recover if desired!

This particular chair features black powder-coated aluminum with original crushed red velvet upholstery (in good condition for it's age). Lovely to sit in and makes for a statement in any space. Would pair nicely in any mid century modern, postmodern, or even mix matched in a different setting for a more eclectic feel. This chair is demountable and easily taken apart with an Allen wrench.
