A Georgian Derby porcelain figure of a shepherdess with a lamb, dating to c.1756–1759. Produced during the Pale Family period, this piece reflects the earliest decorative phase of Derby porcelain, with a light and delicate palette.
The figure corresponds to model D17 in the classification by Peter Bradshaw, where it is listed among the earliest Derby pastoral figures. It represents an early English version of the Dresden shepherdess type, derived from Johann Joachim Kändler.
Early versions retain simple forms, fresh colouring and softly modelled Rococo bases. The model was produced in several sizes.
The underside is incised No. 60 and size mark 3, indicating one of four standard sizes.
