The circular body is defined by a broad, rounded rim and deep, gently curving walls, giving the piece a low, substantial presence. The black glaze has a soft, reflective quality with subtle tonal variation under light. A lightly banded ridge pattern encircles the exterior, introducing a quiet sense of rhythm without interrupting the overall simplicity of the form. The design aligns with early modernist principles, where proportion and contour take precedence over ornament. The underside bears the Doulton Lambeth mark, confirming its manufacture. Condition is good for its age and use. There is visible surface wear, including light scratches to the glaze.
