Arne … Read more This rare 1960s teak reclining lounge chair, model fd-164, was designed by arne vodder for france & søn, denmark. Arne vodder has combined elegant proportions with comfort, resulting in a very attractive chair with an organic curved back and slender sculpted arms, that will adjust to three different seating positions. The chair moves from upright to a more casual lounging setting, this is done through the use of a clever adjustable sliding mechanism on the interior rails.
the chair is not only highly attractive, but also extremely comfortable, having been professionally upholstered in a stunning camira dark green wool fabric with zipped cushions, which works beautifully with the rich colour of the teak. 
the chair retains its france & søn badge, and is also stamped “made in denmark” on the inside of both stretchers. The wood is in lovely condition, having been gently oiled, the chair and its mechanism is good and sturdy. There is evidence of a period repair to the front stretcher, which i’ve shown in the last image.
