This beautiful pair from the 1970s–80s is everything the form promises: a generously enveloping egg-shaped rattan frame, a smoothly functioning swivel mechanism on a stacked rattan pedestal base, curved open armrests, and large tufted cushions that turn these into genuinely comfortable lounge seats. Two of them together is a decorative event.

The construction is quality throughout. The outer hoop of each chair is a single continuous arc of bent rattan forming the egg silhouette, with vertical rattan slats creating the interior cage structure visible from the rear — a beautiful graphic detail. The curved armrests sweep forward from the hoop in a natural, welcoming gesture. Below, the stacked pedestal base — concentric rings of rattan pole built into a sculptural cylinder — conceals the swivel mechanism and provides a dramatic visual base that grounds the floating egg shape above.

The tufted cushions are original, in a large-scale tropical floral print in cream, sage, blush, and seafoam — very much of their moment and carrying real nostalgic charm. They are in usable condition. Replacement in solid linen, velvet, or a bold contemporary print would completely transform the chairs' mood while keeping the beautiful rattan frames intact. The swivel mechanisms on both chairs are smooth and functional. Frames are in very good vintage condition.

No maker's markings, consistent with quality American rattan production of the era (Ficks Reed and similar). A pair of genuine decorative impact for a living room, sunroom, reading corner, or any space that deserves a memorable seating moment.
