A striking pair of sculptural "Seashell" lounge chairs, exemplifying the 1980s Postmodern movement's sophisticated take on Art Deco and Neoclassical forms. This is a true "mirror image" pair, featuring a dramatic asymmetrical silhouette with deep vertical channel tufting that fans upward into a graceful, fanned backrest.
The chairs feature a unique mixed-leg profile: formal trumpet front legs paired with sweeping Klismos-style back legs. This architectural detail provides an elegant, curated look from every angle. One chair sweeps to the left and the other to the right, allowing for a balanced, symmetrical arrangement.
The construction is high-quality and exceptionally sturdy. The seats remain remarkably firm, suggesting these have seen very little use over the decades. Currently upholstered in a neutral floral damask, their bold, curvilinear geometry makes them a prime candidate for a custom bouclé or mohair restoration.

Please note that light vertical pressure marks are present on the reverse of the backrests due to storage; these affect the fabric pile only and are expected to respond well to professional steaming. The dark-finish wood legs are structurally sound, showing some minor surface scuffing and small chips consistent with forty years of use, though these do not detract from the overall sculptural presence of the pair. less
