Measuring over eight feet in length, the table was designed for communal dining in a refectory, monastery, or large farmhouse setting and will comfortably seat eight to ten guests.
The long rectangular top is constructed from thick, hand-planed walnut planks with expressive grain, visible tool marks, age separations, softened edges, and generations of honest surface wear that speak to its authenticity and history. The deep, warm walnut patina shows rich tonal variation throughout, giving the piece wonderful depth and character.
The table rests on boldly sculpted trestle supports with pronounced scroll-cut legs, joined by a shaped walnut stretcher and reinforced with a hand-forged iron tension rod, a classic Spanish construction detail that adds both visual interest and structural integrity. The sculptural base gives the table a strong, grounded silhouette while still allowing comfortable legroom, making it as practical today as it is decorative.
