The spherical form gives these pieces a sculptural presence, while the hand-cut overlay and engraving create depth and strong light refraction characteristic of fine European crystal.

Lead crystal is valued for its clarity and brilliance, and pieces of this type require a multi-stage, labor-intensive process involving overlay, cutting, engraving, and polishing.

Historically, this style reflects traditions associated with Harrach and Rückl engravers, where such work could require 15–20 hours per piece. Production of heavily hand-cut crystal declined by the late 1980s, increasing its desirability among collectors.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition. Minor superficial wear secondary to age and use. See photos. Julia maker stickers no longer intact on the bowls. I personally purchased these in Poland in the 1970’s. Since they are handmade, the dimensions are not identical. Listing measurements of both.
