It has an "ebonized" black base with distressed gold leaf accents on the raised edges. This "black and gilt" style was popular back in the day for creating an aged, antique appearance.

These pair of vintage frames have been repurposed with new, custom cut mirrors. Each has wire hanging hardware included on reverse side for ease in hanging.

The mirrors fits into several specific decor categories: Rococo Revival, Spanish Revival, Hollywood Regency along with a traditional influence. These would be perfectly styled in a formal foyer, over dual vanities or mantels to add weight and old-world elegance.
