A large 1950's Swedish ceramic platter by Anna-Lisa Thomson (1905-1952) for Upsala-Ekeby (UE). The earthenware platter depicts abstract female figures amid foliage with grey and white glazes. The platter as the UE's maker's labels on the underside. Dimensions:
2.5" H X 15" W X 15" D. There are no chips, cracks, losses, or restorations. Some minor crazing throughout. Anna-Lisa Thomson (1905-1952) is one of the well-known representatives of the illustrious Swedish ceramic design of the 20th century. She was one of the leading designers for the UE factory in the 1930s-1940s. She is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
