The original handwritten provenance note remains with the pieces, making this a truly special acquisition for the collector or design enthusiast.
Each heavy cabinet features deeply carved Gothic tracery panels on the doors — quatrefoil and pointed arch motifs reminiscent of cathedral stonework — with reeded pilasters on the sides and a carved foliate or diamond frieze along the apron. The rich warm walnut tone and hand-cut joinery speak to the skill and dedication of their maker. The interiors are open with a single storage compartment behind each pair of doors.
The two cabinets are similar but not identical — each features slightly different carving patterns on the door panels and friezes — reflecting the handmade nature of the work.
