The top is … Read more 18th century European library, refectory, or tavern table crafted from rich, honey-toned walnut. Likely Spanish Baroque origin. The top is made from a single plank which features beautiful patina displaying not only character but long-term care. The table features traditional hand-joined construction: notable details include exposed wooden joinery pegs visible on the side apron and authentic mbutt-joints in the drawer box. The table features a unique single wide drawer (22.5" W x 3.5" H) with period-style metal pulls, designed with a double-panel faux front. This "split-front" drawer, decorated with deep raised-geometric molding (applied molding), creates the visual symmetry of two separate drawers while offering uninterrupted storage. The piece stands on four heavily turned baluster legs joined by a substantial H-stretcher base, providing visual weight and exceptional stability.
