A lovely pair of antique Shaker-style ladder-back chairs with woven or splint seats, likely dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
The backrests feature four horizontal slats or rungs resembling a ladder, while the vertical posts are topped with decorative hand-carved finials. Cylindrical legs and stretchers showcase the rustic charm of Shaker or early American craftsmanship.
Each chair bears charming pencil marks where the slats were inserted and is likely crafted from maple, with hand-turned legs adding to their appeal.
