This really is an Exceptionally Nice Looking Authentic Antique American Country Primitive Stoneware Jug. Circa Approx 1870. Small Approx. 1 … Read more This really is an Exceptionally Nice Looking Authentic Antique American Country Primitive Stoneware Jug. Circa Approx 1870. Small Approx. 1 Gallon Size. The Surface Exterior done in a Classic American Textured Salt Glaze. The Front is Hand Decorated with a Wonderful Bold & Deep Cobalt Blue Color Tornado ? Design. It is Signed - Embossed with the Well Documented Up State New York Makers Name "N. A. WHITE & SON UTICA N.Y.". NOTE Also this Particular Version of the Mark Was Only Used Between Approx 1867 & 1875 so This Jug Would Have Been Made During that Time Frame. The Company was Started by Noah White in 1839 and Closed in 1907. These type of Jugs were Commonly Used to Store a Variety of Liquids - Spirits - Liquor - Ciders - Vinegar - Spring Water Etc. Back in the These Types of Crocks were Made for Utilitarian Purposes and were a Necessity in Most Homes and Farms. In addition These Stoneware Items were Completely Hand Made Making Them Each One of a Kind. It is in Excellent Condition - Displays Beautifully. It has 1 Very Small Chip on the Spout Outer Perimeter. No Cracks - No Repairs.
