The plate features a center medallion containing a portrait of the young Elizabeth on her coronation day; the tin bears the likeness of the Queen and Prince Phillip.

The plate was fabricated in her honor by the esteemed Alfred Meakin Pottery works of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire England. It features a center medallion containing a portrait of the young Elizabeth on her coronation day, 4 pairs of British flags at each direction point of the rim, surrounded by a gilt and scalloped edge. Founded in 1875, the company produced semi-porcelain and ironstone chinaware, primarily for the American market. Mark en verso, as shown.

The blue tin features an official coronation portrait of QE II and her consort, Prince Phillip, on the lid as well as her official monogram on the front. A more commercial piece, it was fabricated by George W. Homer & Company, Ltd. a notable British confectioner, and originally contained their highly popular rum & butter toffee. Due to its everyday use, it is a fairly rare souvenir to survive 50+ years in such fine condition.

Dimensions: plate, 9.75" Dia.; tin, 4.75"W x 4.25"D x 3"H.

Condition: both in excellent vintage condition for having had 50+ years of enjoyment. Plate has no cracks, no chips, no crazing; minor gilt wear. Tin has vibrant colors and very little surface wear.
