Hand-carved from a single block of dense hardwood, the piece features a wide shallow dish form raised on an open pierced pedestal base with softly tapered supports and rich dark patina developed through decades of use and age. Originally used as a ceremonial serving vessel, offering stand, or low household prestige object, pieces of this type played an important role in communal dining and ritual traditions within Naga culture. The worn edges, surface variation, shrinkage marks, and organic asymmetry all reflect its authentic handmade character and long history. Equally compelling as a functional object or decorative piece.
