Offered for sale is an Elda Chair, designed by Joe Colombo and manufactured by Comfort Fratelli Longhi. The Elda Chair’s futuristic design reflects Colombo’s interest in space exploration and modern technology. It features a high, wraparound back and armrests. The exterior shell is made of molded fiberglass in a glossy white finish, with an interior upholstered in white leather with segmented cushions that are contoured for comfort. The swivel base provides 360-degree rotation. It is very rare to have 4 identical matching chairs available.

This piece is licensed to be produced from the original from the first generation, manufactured by Comfort in Meda, Italy. In the 1960s, the Italian manufacturer Comfort, based in Meda near Milan, produced several designs by Joe Colombo, including the Elda and Supercomfort plastic lounge chairs. Later, starting in 2007, the company Fratelli Longhi continued Comfort’s tradition and produced Colombo’s Elda and Astrea lounge chairs (both designed in 1963).Itis marked Longhi asd shown under the seat cushion.
