This stunning and beautifully crafted "Hollywood Regency Chinoiserie Chippendale Style" writing desk is decorated with intricate gilt carvings and garden … Read more This stunning and beautifully crafted "Hollywood Regency Chinoiserie Chippendale Style" writing desk is decorated with intricate gilt carvings and garden paintings throughout and is lacquered in deep espresso color. The desk is made of mahogany wood and features three deep drawers with gilt floral drawer pulls. The desktop surround has painted lattice trellis with floral motifs in between and at each corner. The apron on all sides features intricate carved fretwork of quatrefoil motifs sandwiched between carved bamboo style edges that has the same botanical and lattice theme. Each leg is also adorned with botanical leaves all around and gilt carved rings to mimic bamboo. This desk is said to be imported from Japan in the 60's, and it is truly a show piece in any room.
