Collectible Chinese Imperial Government 4 1/2% Gold Loan Bond from 1898, specifically a £100 Sterling bond issued in association with the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation.
These bonds were issued to raise funds during the reign of the Guangxu Emperor to pay foreign debts following the Sino-Japanese War.
In clear floating laminate frame. Frame measures 21 1/4" wide x 25", Bond measures 15 3/4" x 19 3/4".
Excellent condition, as photographed, shows mild creasing and crinkles, but no major wear. Please review photos.
