Fabulously eye-catching Spanish Colonial-style walnut wood rustic decorative keepsake or document box that was handcrafted sometime in the mid 20th-century by a local artisan. Handcrafted to mimic a colonial-period Spanish wooden box, it was fashioned from hand hewn recycled walnut wood. Clad with distinctive decorative studs and pierced brass strapwork throughout, the two hand forged brass handles, one on each side, allows for easy transport. There is an interior three-compartment tray that sits on a small ledge atop the lower storage compartment. This beauty weighs 7 lbs. and measures as follows:

Overall: 14½” x 7¾” x 7” W/D/H
Interior: 11¼” x 5½” x 5¾” W/D/H
Tray: 11¼” x 5¼” x 1¼” W/D/H; each of the 3 compartment varies in width from 3” to 3½” x 4¾” depth

In excellent condition with a few of life’s bumps and bruises that do not detract from its beauty and functionality. Since wood is an organic material, it shrinks across the grain with age so there are two age-appropriate hairline splits, one to the top and one on the bottom, neither affects the structural integrity of the box. Local artisan makers name is not known but it was handcrafted sometime in the mid 20th-century (1960’s to early 1970s).
