This large oval ironstone platter by Bourne & Leigh of Burslem, England carries the Aberdeen pattern in brown transferware, with a delicate scrolling floral border of roses and foliage surrounding a central spray motif. The warm brown transfer on white ironstone is a classic combination from the Staffordshire potteries of this period, and the generous size makes it as useful as it is decorative. Marked with the Bourne & Leigh Burslem backstamp on the reverse.
