This enchanting Art Nouveau bronze-clad figurine, titled "The Good Fairy," was designed in 1916 by the American artist and entrepreneur Jessie McCutcheon Raleigh. Standing atop a globe with arms wide and an upturned, joyful expression, this piece was originally conceived as a modern mascot for optimism and good fortune. This specific example features the authentic "© J.M.R. 1916" copyright stamp on the base, alongside the embossed title. The figure retains a beautiful, deep chocolate patina with subtle highlights, mounted on its original circular wooden plinth. A classic piece of early 20th-century Americana, it serves as both a sophisticated desk accessory and a meaningful gift, representing the "sunshine of life" and the spirit of benevolence.
It is in great antique condition, marks and patina consistent with its age and history(the wooden base has a small chip on the edge as shown in the close-up photos).
