This alarm clock model 02/R optic was designed by Joe Colombo and reissued by Alessi in the late 1980s, based on an original 1970s concept developed for Ritz Italora. It represents a compact and highly recognizable example of Italian postmodern design, where functional objects are treated as small-scale architectural volumes.
The structure is defined by a rounded cubic form that frames the dial, creating a balance between protection and visual emphasis. The black plastic body enhances the graphic quality of the piece, giving it a strong presence despite its reduced dimensions.
