This is a EXTREMELY RARE! Work by Artist Frederick Daniel Henry Rothenbush For Rookwood Potteries. This is a Rookwood Pottery Jug with Original Top with a High Glaze that makes this so Rare as Frederick Rothenbush worked only in Vellum Glaze. The Artist work is Superb and Very Well Detailed with a Corn Motif on a Chocolate Background with Green Overcast and Fully Signed. This is a Truly Wonderful piece for the Advanced Collector of Rookwood
Stands Approx. 8.5" tall x 5.25" wide x 4" deep and is in Nice Antique Condition with No Chips or Cracks and has the Original Cork that is old and Fragile
Frederick Rothenbusch was born in Cincinnati Ohio, and he attended the Cincinnati Art Academy. He decorated pottery at Rookwood Pottery for many years, from 1896 through 1931. His work appears to have been completely done in vellum glaze, including some very large vases and plaques, executed beautifully and often with landscapes. Collector interest in his pieces is considered to be above average.
