Two survivors from the English table, quietly elegant and surprisingly modern. These early 19th-century Wedgwood creamware platters carry the pale, buttery tone that made the factory famous—soft, luminous, and endlessly versatile.
Each platter tells a slightly different story. One is molded to resemble a woven wicker basket, its surface gently imitating the rhythm of interlaced reeds. The other is more restrained, allowing the beauty of the creamware itself to take center stage. Both are finished with delicate pierced rims—small openings circling the edges that lend the forms an airy lightness.
Time has given them the subtle character collectors love: a mellow patina and the quiet assurance of objects that have endured two centuries of daily life.
Today they slip effortlessly into modern interiors. Leaned on open shelving or hung along a kitchen or pantry wall, they read less like antiques and more like thoughtful gestures—simple, graphic, and timelessly English.
