A Colonial Revival walnut lectern dating between 1910 and 1925, originally designed to hold a Bible, hymnal, or dictionary. It came into the world with purpose and gravitas, and it still has both.
The solid walnut has been finished with hemp oil and sealed with clear wax, deepening the natural grain without obscuring it. A hand-painted black mandala stencil anchors the surface. Intricate, symmetrical, and slightly haunting against the warm wood. The turned legs are painted in matte black at the joints, the lower shelf intact and functional, and the original antique casters still roll.
Use it as a writing lectern, a music stand, a tarot or altar display, a side table, or simply as a beautiful object that holds space in a room.
