An elegant Rose Mandarin porcelain bowl mounted in finely cast French dore bronze, combining Chinese porcelain with the decorative refinement of French craftsmanship. The porcelain bowl itself measures approximately 13 inches wide by 7 inches high and features two sculptural handles integrated into the elaborate gilt bronze mounting.
The porcelain is beautifully decorated in the Rose Mandarin palette, with vibrant enamels and intricate figural and floral scenes typical of this highly sought-after export style. The porcelain bowl likely dates to the late 18th century, while the gilt bronze mounts were most likely added in France during the early 19th century, circa 1820–1830.
During this period it was common for French workshops to mount Chinese porcelain with elaborate gilt bronze in the Rococo taste, transforming decorative objects into luxurious centerpieces and display pieces for grand interiors. The scrolling bronze mounts and handles reflect this Rococo influence and frame the porcelain beautifully.
The bowl is securely attached within the dore bronze mounts, and the piece appears to be in very good condition overall, with the porcelain and bronze both presenting well.
