The Solaris plate by Tapio Wirkkala for Iittala is one of the more recognizable pieces in the Finnish glass canon, with a deeply textured concentric ring pattern radiating from the center that evokes both tree rings and the surface of the sun. The texture catches light beautifully and gives the clear glass a sculptural quality that works as well on display as on the table.
Each plate measures 9.75 inches in diameter by 0.75 inches tall. All six are in good vintage condition with light surface scratches from normal use and no chips or cracks. Please see all available photographs and consider them as part of the item description.
