Arzobispo workshop, a historic ceramics center in the Toledo region of Spain. Plate is rendered in a classic blue and white with glaze. Charger features a lively figurative scene depicting a mounted soldier clad in armor and carrying a spear, riding across a stylized landscape. In the background, a traditional Spanish windmill rises above rolling hills while trees, birds, and flowing terrain frame the scene. Rim is bordered with a simple blue band. The reverse bears the name P. Arzobispo signature with the letter "M" below, indicating production within the Puente del Arzobispo pottery tradition. These chargers were often created for both decorative and ceremonial table service, often hung in Spanish homes.
