An elegant French Art Deco centerpiece pairs a luminous marbled glass bowl by Degué with an ornate wrought iron mount decorated with stylized roses. The amber-yellow glass softly diffuses light and creates a warm decorative presence.
The sculptural wrought iron frame is richly detailed with scrolls and stylized roses, showcasing the craftsmanship typical of French decorative ironwork from the Art Deco period. The dramatic contrast between glowing glass and dark forged iron gives the piece strong visual impact.
Signed "Degué" on the rim.
About the artist
David Guéron (1892–1950) was the creator of the Degué glass brand and an important figure in French Art Deco glassmaking. In 1926 he established the Verrerie d’Art Degué in Paris while operating production at the Cristalleries de Compiègne in northern France. During the 1920s and 1930s the workshop produced decorative glass objects and lighting distinguished by rich colors, molded forms, and characteristic marbled or acid-etched surfaces. Signed Degué pieces are today widely collected and are associated with the golden age of French decorative arts, alongside the work of contemporaries such as Schneider, Muller Frères, and Daum.
