Defined by its architectural silhouette, the frame subtly angles inward. Two open shelves are set within angular lines, supported by sharply splayed legs. The walnut wood is warm and expressive, with visible joinery and a rich patina that speaks to decades of use.

Gio Ponti, an eclectic visionary, immersed himself in architecture, painting, graphics, and set design from the outset. Graduating in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1920, he co-founded the influential magazine Domus with editor Gianni Mazzocchi in 1926, directing it until his passing. In 1931, Ponti assumed the artistic direction at Luigi Fontana and, in 1932, founded Fontana Arte with Pietro Chiesa, leaving an indelible mark on modern design.

Condition: Good vintage condition, with light scuffing, surface marks, indentations, and small edge nicks consistent with age and use. See less
