This chair was originally designed by Walter Gropius (May 1883 – July 1969) in 1922/23 for the Fagus Factory in Alfeld an der Leine. The factory building itself was designed by Gropius and his colleague Adolf Meyer (June 1881 – July 1929) in 1911 and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The chair offered here is a 1980s production from the German company Tecta.

Condition Report: The wooden frame shows light to normal signs of age and use (see photos). The seat and back cushions have been reupholstered in Hermès' "Pavage" fabric (Dedar).
