This piece is made of solid wood construction, primarily mahogany. The desk has been ebonized and finished with a lustrous French polish of museum quality. There are three dovetailed drawers on the front of the desk, each with working locks and one key. The two outer drawers have finely cast brass pulls, while all three showcase brass escutcheons in the shape of a stylized sunburst. The top is covered with embossed tan leather enhanced with an embossed gold leaf trim. The curved cabriole legs are capped with finely cast bronze feet in the shape of hooves. This piece is in very nice antique condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The photos accurately depict the condition. See less
