This elegant Victorian Eastlake-style side chair features a beautifully carved back splat with scrolling foliate details arranged in a circular medallion motif. The sculptural back rises into slender, tapering uprights that give the chair a graceful vertical presence.
Crafted in richly toned tiger oak, the chair showcases the refined craftsmanship characteristic of late 19th-century Eastlake-influenced furniture. The seat retains its woven cane panel (all in tact) and measures 17" wide at the front and tapers down to 13.5" wide at the back. The wood frame around the cane is 1.25" wide.
The combination of carved ornament, clean lines, and delicate proportions reflects the transition from heavier Victorian forms toward the more architectural aesthetic popularized by the Eastlake movement.
