This piece of furniture likely dates from around 1880 and is probably of German origin.

Condition:

Original antique in good condition for its age, with signs of wear,
partially replaced, damaged, with missing pieces, shrinkage cracks, and old restoration (see photos). Photos are part of the auction .

Magnificent pair of bedside tables from the Historicist period (circa 1880). The pieces are crafted in the Neo-Baroque style (inspired by the Louis XV style), recognizable by their elegantly curved lines and characteristic cabriole legs.

Material & Construction:

Body: Solid oak, ensuring high stability and durability.
Veneer: The visible surfaces are masterfully veneered with exquisite walnut and contrasting hardwoods.

Marquetry: The fronts of the doors and drawers feature elaborate inlay work. The central, curved ornament on the doors is particularly noteworthy, effectively accentuated by dark fillet inlays.

Surface: Classic polish that beautifully highlights the vibrant grain of the walnut and the intricate details of the marquetry.

Construction & Details:

Front: Slightly convex (curved), emphasizing the craftsmanship.

Storage: One shallow drawer in the upper section and a spacious compartment behind the curved door.
