An early 19th century Welsh longcase (grandfather) clock signed John Rees, Harlech. This elegant tall case clock features a beautifully painted arch dial with a maritime harbor scene above the chapter ring, Roman numerals, pierced brass hands, and a date aperture.
The finely crafted case displays classic Federal-era proportions with turned columns, decorative banded inlay, and a warm aged patina. The dial painting depicting a sailing ship entering harbor reflects the maritime heritage of the Welsh coastal town of Harlech.
The clock retains its period character and presents beautifully as both a functional timepiece and decorative antique statement piece.
