The case … Read more This elegant 14k gold reeded needle case was an everyday object in the life of a Victorian woman. The case is capped with a pretty leaf design that has hand-chased detailing, with a similar element in the center of the case where the top and bottom open. The lid fits tightly, with an elongated inner section of the case the hold the two portions of the case securely together. The reeded work is graceful and meticulous, with echos of Neoclassicism. The case can hold anything you’d like—we think it is perfect for a tiny love letter.

We’ve added a large bail, proportional to the case, so that it can hang on a chain. The bail opens and shuts, so the case can be clipped onto a larger chain or into a jump ring. The case looks beautiful on a chain and makes a great conversation piece.

The case measures 3” x 1/2” and weighs 6.55 grams. The bail is 7.4 x 9 mm. The case is marked 14P for 14k gold and with a boars head that indicates it is Dutch circa the 19th century. See less
