Measurements: each approx. 45 inches high x 27 1/2 inches wide x 28 inches deep
Carved walnut, upholstered textile, brass nail head trim
A dramatic set of four Venetian Baroque armchairs carved with high-relief figural arm supports modeled as reclining classical figures, each integrated into scrolling arm terminals. The seats and backs are upholstered in a red patterned textile, bordered with brass nail head trim. The aprons are richly carved with floral and foliate motifs, raised on turned and block legs joined by sculptural stretchers. The overall composition reflects the theatrical sculptural language and virtuoso carving associated with the Venetian Baroque tradition and the circle of Andrea Brustolon.
